I am finding a quick and dirty method of locating which D&D/Pathfinder/WizKids pre-painted miniatures might be suitable for 54mm gaming is to skim through the "unboxing" videos on Youtube. For example, this preview of "Icewind Dale" a set of what appears to be all Winter/Northlands miniatures:
LINKIf you expand the video info there is a list of the miniatures and the time they appear at. In this set, the listings shown in
bold are of interest to me at least:

Rime of the Frostmaiden booster box when
the set releases in September
1:03 Box 1
1:17 Winter Wolf (# 29) - a large figure, it looks like it might be the correct size for 54mm
1:36 Yeti Tyke (# 5)
1:54 Knucklehead Trout (# 9) - a medium sized base I think. Possibly usable as some form of man-eating fish, or just background fauna. Don't know what part it plays in D&D.
2:23 Flind Trapper (# 18)
2:46 Box 2
3:40 Tomb Tapper (# 42)
- a huge (looks like 6" tall or so), Demonic or Chaotic looking creature.
4:08 Night Hag (# 23)
4:31 Mountain Goat (# 10)
5:02 Arctic Fox (# 4)
5:27 Box 3
5:47 Duergar Stone Guard (# 17)
6:09 Nass Lantomir (# 38)
6:29 Abominable Yeti (# 31)
- a Huge creature, suitable as a monster.
6:48 Box 4
6:58 Reindeer (# 27)
7:18 Gnome Ceremorph (# 22)
7:50 Chwinga with Snowball (# 3) - a tiny creature. I think it could have its uses.
8:17 The Brittle Maiden (# 35) - a medium creature, at least the base seems to be medium/human sized. The figure is much taller though, so maybe suitable(?)
8:41 Box 5
8:57 Killer Whale (# 30) - this is a huge creature. Modeled leaping out of the water, might be useful to menace adventurers in kayaks or similar.
9:21 Human Hunter (# 2)
9:43 Human Trapper (# 15)
10:05 Duergar Mind Master (# 6)
10:22 Box 6
10:34 Snowy Owlbear (# 28) - a huge beast but I don't really like it. Its in a cute sitting Panda pose.
11:21 Kobold Mountaineer (# 12)
11:46 Chwinga with Icicle Staff (# 16) - another of these little guys. Both would be cool en masse, IMO.
"Why have you come to the Land of the Chwinga?!"12:09 Box 7
12:20 Oyaminartok, the Goliath Werebear
12:53 Gnoll (# 24B)
13:13 Reghed Nomad with Cage (# 1) (we didn't find the missing cage)
13:45 Goliath Barbarian (# 8)
14:05 Box 8
14:33 Frost Salamander (# 33) - a huge beasties, 6-legged, rearing up as if trying to rip your face off.
15:02 Snow Goblin (# 11)
15:20 Gnome Squidling (# 21)
15:50 Orog Ranger (# 7)
16:20 Minis from the set on WarLock Tiles and Dwarven Forge terrain setups for scale
- useful b/c the small squares are 1" and the DF tiles are 2"
