This evening was nice and productive. I painted up all my terrain tiles. I’m wondering if I should give them a varnish? On my walk down the high street I also rescued this little (well, giant!) fellow. I think it is made from resin, but is scaled really well for a giant bear for 54mm. I gave him a good scrub to get years of dust and gunk off, which also cleared off most of the faded paint job. He has just been primed ready for a new coat!

An excellent find , he is a splendid bear. I would varnish the tiles, I like glossy.

I had a very productive evening painting today. I varnished my terrain tiles, completed my bear, based my giant (finally) and painted and varnished two spellcasters.

I also painted and varnished a unit of orcs, and painted a flamboyant great orc (a berserker by the looks of things!) and a unit of skeleton archers.

Thank you! I’m on holiday at the moment but will be back here soon after Plastic Warrior. While away I’ve bought some orc heads from Spellcrow to affix to suitable bodies, and some goblin heads for the tintin boat conversion. I also have a few Indians on their way which I’ll use for the orcs (thanks Quantrilltoy!). I’m hoping to pick up some more Indians cheaply from a discount store in Los Angeles, but if not then I’ll get them at Plastic Warrior. In Dollar Tree I grabbed those Masters of the Universe figures, enough for a unit of He-man barbarians and a unit of Skeletors after repaints.

I discovered some old Rackham miniatures in my cupboard. These Wolven are perfectly in scale for 54mm! I have always loved the Rackham Confrontation minis. Had no idea the figures were large enough for 54mm! Any idea if the same is true for other pre-paints or even the metal figures?

The Wolven are giant sized compared to the standard 28mm human in the range. I’m not sure on if any of the other factions have similar large size creatures.
